How to Report an Exam Conflict

Have a Final Exam Conflict?

What is an exam conflict?
  • Two final exams scheduled at the same time
  • Three final exams scheduled in one day (between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM)
  • An exam starting between 12:00am and 4:50am (this would only be relevant for students who are studying abroad)
  • Two or more final exams scheduled during the night (between 10pm and 7am in the student鈥檚 local time). This would only occur for students studying from abroad.
  • Student has an external conflict (Final exam at 涩里番 is at the same time as at another institution)
What is NOT an exam conflict?
  • Two exams scheduled in one day
  • Two exams scheduled back to back (45 minutes between the two exams)
  • Three exams scheduled in 24 hours
  • Personal reasons (concert, travel plans, etc.)

Reporting an Exam Conflict

To report an exam conflict, please e-mail exams@alexandercollege.ca

Your email must include the following information:

  • Full name
  • Student number
  • ALL courses you are taking this term
  • Conflicting exam information:
    • Exam 1: Course name and section (e.g. ECON 103A), name of instructor, date and time
    • Exam 2: Course name and section (e.g. ENGL 100B), name of instructor, date and time
    • Exam 3 (if in conflict): Course name and section (e.g. PSYC 217V), name of instructor, date and time

For an external conflicts please fill out 鈥淔inal Exam Deferral Form鈥 which is available online and email it to Student Rights and Responsibilities with the following supporting documents:

Proof of same final exam dates/times at the other institution (the document must include your name)

Important deadline:

All final exam conflicts / accommodations must be reported at least 10 business days before the last day of classes.

* Exam conflicts / accommodations reported after the due date are subject to Exam Deferral Fee ($150).
